People of all ages are straightening their smiles, not just children and teens. However, as an adult, you may not have time in your schedule for multiple office visits for adjustments or to spend extra time brushing and flossing. You may not be interested in the dietary restrictions that come with braces and might want to avoid the look of metal braces. If this is the case for you, talk to our dentist about clear aligners.
If you decide to move ahead with clear aligners, our team will take digital impressions of your smile. Those impressions will be sent to a lab, where your aligners will be created. When they are delivered, you will return to our office to pick them up and have our dentist and team explain how to wear and care for them. You will normally wear each set of aligners for two weeks or as directed. You will need to see us for examinations to see if it is time to switch to the next set. Over time, your teeth will be gradually and comfortably moved into their proper positions.
The aligners are made of a clear, plastic material that fits snugly against your teeth. This makes them virtually unnoticeable to other people and very comfortable to wear. You can easily remove them to eat so you can continue to enjoy your favorite meals and clean your aligners easily when needed. If you would like to learn more about clear aligners, call our office today.
